Pets Paradise Bonaire is the title of the new Bonaire Animal Shelter video.
The video was made by a creative young local film producer and impressed the crowd. The film shows graphically what the animal problems are, primarily too many unwanted cats and dogs, and how they are dealing with them.
Shots of the Shelter residents are interspersed with short interviews with some of the Shelter staff. Informative, creative and entertaining. You may view the 20 minute video via the You Tube Channel of the Animal Shelter Bonaire or below.
During the World Championship Football 2010, Jibe City organized a football pool. Unfortunately nobody won the Jackpot and at Jibe.
What to do with the money?
Everyone at Jibe decided to give the money to the Animal Shelter Bonaire.
Thanks to everyone at Jibe City for putting money in the football pool and for not winning!

Monique Degenaar of the Animal Shelter Bonaire went on a holiday to her home town in Holland, Voorschoten. She had a beer (or two) in the local pub “Café de Lindeboom“. There she met four of her pretty girlfriends and one handsome guy who is not on the picture (Annemiek zegt: groetjes van Annemiek!).
The girls and boy of “De Lindenboom” collected all kind of presents and toys for the dogs and cats of the Animal Shelter Bonaire.
Thanks you and Proost!
Bonairean street artist Juny (real name Riginaldo Gustina) painted a amazing mural on the wall of the puppy kennel at the Animal Shelter Bonaire.
As you can see it is an artists impression of Bonny the Superdog, the mascotte of the free sterilization project of the shelter.

Yoris may be a beagle look-alike but he’s bigger and more impressive than that. In fact he’s considered an excellent watch dog and he should deter anyone who shouldn’t be in his yard. But with his human friends Yoris is very mellow, shy even, and he takes awhile to warm up to people and other dogs. But when he does it makes it all worth it. This handsome pup is about a year and a half old; he’s been sterilized, has had his shots, worming and tests and is ready to go to an appreciative home.
The adoption fee at the Shelter for dogs is NAƒ 125 and includes all this. To meet Yoris and the other healthy and social pets up for adoption visit the Bonaire Animal Shelter on the Lagoen Road, open Monday through Saturday, 9 to 1 and 3 to 5.

Saturday, February 6, the Animal Shelter has held a tremendous book and flea market at the Kaminda Lagun. Many volunteers started early to display all books and other articles and have been working all day to make sure everything went well.
From 11.00 am, people started to come in and lots of visitors have been coming whole day. While having a drink or snack, many customers took their time to look around between the many, many items that were for sale, to see if there was something they liked and could buy for little money. They found a lot to buy. The ambiance was great. Many people met friends or acquaintance.
For the Animal Shelter it was a very good day. A container that is a lot emptier and a cashbox that is a lot fuller. for more than Naf. 4.000,00 was sold.
All the money will be used to keep the shelter doing their work and for various smaller projects.
The Shelter would like to thank the We Dare to Care Foundation and Martinus Import nv for placing at the disposal of tables and tents.
