Het olieoverslagbedrijf op Bonaire, Bopec, staat in brand. Gisteren is het begonnen en het vuur laait nog steeds hoog op vanuit de tanks. Op Bonaire.web-log heb je er al veel over kunnen lezen.

Pet of the week: Jos, the handsome Corgie look-a-like

Jos, the short legged Corgie

Meet “Jos,” a very handsome redhead who loves people. He’s a short legged Corgie look-alike. Here he is getting acquainted with Bonaire visitor Colton Reed from Cobb, California. Colton always makes it a point to stop in for a visit to the Shelter when he’s on the island. Jos is one of those dogs with a good self image and confidence.

Even though he’s been at the Shelter only a short time he knows his name and has enchanted the staff with his easy going charm and sociability. Here’s a smart dog with who can learn quickly. Jos is about one and a half years old, has been sterilized, has had his worming and shots and is in perfect health.

You may see him and the other cats and dogs up for adoption at the Shelter on the Lagoen Road, open Monday through Saturday, 9 am to 1 pm, 3 to 5 pm. Tel. 717-4989.

Rincon Church Anniversary

The evangelical church in Rincon celebrated its 50th anniversary last weekend with a special celebration Saturday night. There were greetings from the Resslers, who helped found the church back in 1960, as well as other pastors and church leaders from the ABC islands. Ottens Visit Bonaire

Ben and Ruth Otten met each other here on Bonaire while both of them were serving with TWR. After Bonaire, they were with TWR in Africa for a couple years, but have been home in Canada for quite some time now.Ruth and Ben, together with their two sons, were recently here to see their old stomping grounds and we had a great time hanging out with them.

Airconditioning Repair

The chilled water air-conditioning system at the studios was in bad shape. The roof mounted condenser unit was pretty much shot. We could only cool about half of the building at a time.Benny and Carl Phillips rescued a no longer needed condenser unit from the transmitter site back when Carl was here on vacation a couple months ago.
